BIO
SUNDR dissolve barriers of genre, blurring the lines between sludge soaked doom, emotionally gripping post-rock and spacious ambience, stripping away the layers to reveal a raw, visceral core.
Following up 2015’s debut EP ‘Loss’, their first full-length release; ‘The Canvas Sea’ has seen SUNDR establish a stronghold in the underground, within Australia and abroad. The 2017 self-released LP opened many pathways for the quartet, a collaborative effort including the visual adaptation of ‘I Still See Plagues’ by Wilson Bambrick , the somber artwork of Camille Blanchemain (Burning Bright, END IT) and an independent release tour of Japan, with the help of newly formed Fortitude Artist Services, forging bonds with well-respected heavyweights such as PALM, NoLA, Stubborn Father, SeeK and The Donor.
On home soil, locally and through several tours of the east coast, SUNDR’s heart-wrenching live performance has made its impact across many facets of the extreme music scene, from sharing the stage with some of the country's most innovative doom, post-metal, hardcore, noise and grind artists, to supporting international acts; Youth Code, Rosetta, Hexis and Rolo Tomassi.
With their next two releases in the making, SUNDR show no signs of complacency and will continue to hone their craft, carefully deconstructing their sound to deliver a sincere and existential experience.
